Chichen Itzá Clásico

The bus driver was professional and courteous. The tours guides were very knowledgeable about the Yucatan, the Maya, and local history. The all spoke at least two languages, English and Spanish, fluently and I had no difficulty understanding what they were saying in both. I found that the opportunity to help support the local Maya people through our purchases to be spiritually rewarding and I spent as much as I could. The opportunity to be blessed by a Mayan shaman was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The chance to see one of the greatest creations of a civilization that persisted for thousands of years with my own eyes was awe inspiring despite the wilting heat and humidity. Coupled with the excellent information provided by our tour guide, I felt humbled and blessed even to be there for a few moments. To give everyone a break after the heat we visited a cenote of pure water and cooled off with a swim. I was amazed at how efficiently the tours moved people in and out of both the cenote and Chichen Itza. Yes, things are crowded but everyone gets their chance and their time.
